Food Service & Restaurant Administration Major

The SUNY Oneonta Food Service & Restaurant Administration program will prepare you for a career in restaurant management, hotel front desk and foodservice operations, the resort and cruise ship industries, catering and banquet operations, event and wedding planning, institutional/contract foodservice, sales, purchasing, corporate management and many more.

You'll have all kinds of opportunities to develop leadership potential and professional knowledge and skills—keys to success in the rapidly growing field of hospitality management.  Food Service & Restaurant Administration students provide hospitality services at the annual Red Dragon Open golf tournament, organize dinner fundraisers to benefit local charities and plan themed wine-tasting dinners to raise money for college scholarships, among other hands-on activities.

A related minor in event planning offers additional experience in organizing and managing events.
