I love everything about Oneonta!
The people, the professors, the opportunities to be involved--
everything about Oneonta is great.

Involved in

I’m the president of Colleges Against Cancer and Relay for Life, and I’m a member of the Association of Childhood Education International. We plan and organize fundraisers for the American Cancer Society. This year, we raised almost $60,000 and had a record turnout, with 1,500 people participating.

Why Oneonta

I actually didn’t want to go here at first, because a lot of my friends from my hometown went here and I wanted to try something new. But then, after visiting, I fell in love with it. It’s definitely the best education program in all the SUNY schools. I don’t see students at other schools getting the experience in the classroom that I’m getting.

Best experiences so far

Definitely my experiences going on trips and going abroad. I went to Ecuador for an education trip, but I also got to speak so much Spanish and I loved learning about the culture. Over spring break I went to Arizona to learn about border culture and immigration policy. Being able to do things like that is just another great thing about Oneonta.

What I love about life at Oneonta

That’s so hard. I love everything about Oneonta! The people, the professors, the opportunities to be involved — everything about Oneonta is great.

Plans, goals, dreams

I definitely want to get my master’s degree; I just don’t know what I want to get it in yet. I’m thinking ESL, ELL or maybe even just education. I’m not really sure what I want to teach yet. I kind of want to go abroad and teach. After teaching in Ecuador I fell in love with it, and I’m going to Peru this summer to teach again.

One word to describe Oneonta and why

Exceptional. It really is. You look at any program, any extracurricular activity, athletics, education… everything is great here!
