Major Maps

Oneonta’s Sample Major Maps

The major maps offered here are samples. They suggest one way for students to fulfill the requirements of SUNY Oneonta’s majors. The maps should be used as a resource, but they should not be considered the definitive or only path toward degree completion. Oneonta students often transfer in credit from other learning experiences—advanced placement courses, courses taken at other institutions, study abroad experiences, etc.—charting their own way toward degree completion. For additional, individualized guidance, students should consult their faculty advisors and/or the professional advisors in the Academic Advisement Center (Netzer 100).

Note: To earn a bachelor’s degree at SUNY Oneonta, students must satisfy all of the degree requirements in place when they matriculate, or when they officially declare their academic major, as specified in the College Catalog for that academic year. These degree requirements include, but are not limited to, the requirements of the General Education program and their declared major, as well as the established minimum number of liberal arts credits and upper-division credits.
