Africana & Latinx Studies Minor

This minor not only provides an appreciation of the heritage of Africana & Latinx peoples, but is a complement to several majors, especially those seeking careers in education, social services, law, and the entertainment industry. Students are encouraged to study a foreign language and/or engage in independent study work (ALS 299). Students planning to complete requirements for this minor must make all arrangements with the Africana & Latinx Studies Department, Fitzelle 270, (607) 436-3449.

Notes:

1. University rules pertaining to curriculum majors also apply to curriculum minors

  • Minor GPA of at least 2.0
  • All courses must be taken for a letter grade unless offered Pass/Fail only
  • One half (1/2) of the minor coursework must be completed in residence
  • No more than two courses may overlap between/among all majors/minors; any excess requires additional coursework
