Make an appointment:
All medical care starts by calling the Health Center at 607-436-3573. You will be asked to provide name, date of birth, your student ID number if needed, and the reason for your visit. You may be routed to nursing staff to determine how urgently you need to be seen. Appointments are generally available within a one-to-two-day window.
What to expect:
Please enter through the main entrance of the Health and Wellness Center and check in with the available receptionists that are located on your right. Upon entering the Health Center, please stop to obtain a mask if you have any of the following symptoms: Cough, Sore Throat, Congestion, Fever, Nausea or have been Vomiting. Once you have been checked in, please take a seat in the waiting area until a nurse calls for you.
Our appointments can take anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes, perhaps longer depending on severity of diagnosis and treatment. In some cases, the Health Center may have to send you to the local Emergency Room. If this happens, the Health Center can arrange for transportation to and from the ER with our local taxi service, A&D Taxi. This will be at no cost to the students.
Notes and Excused Absences:
The Health Center does not provide excuse notes for classes missed due to an appointment or minor illness. (See Policy Library, Excused Absences).
All student information held at the Health Center is strictly confidential and will not be released without written or phone consent by the student and/or as required by law. Students under 18 years of age, must have parental permission to be seen and treated at the Health Center except for emergency situations, emancipated minors, or reproductive health issues.
