Congratulations and welcome to SUNY Oneonta!
At orientation, new students learn about SUNY Oneonta’s academic and behavioral expectations, college values, traditions and social opportunities; as well as connecting with other new students, returning students, faculty and staff members.
SUNY Oneonta has a three-part orientation process:
- All new students are required to complete the online orientation. A link will be sent to your SUNY Oneonta email address prior to your in-person orientation.
- You will also attend a mandatory in-person orientation program at the beginning of each semester, between move-in day and the first day of classes. During the in-person orientation, you'll attend informational sessions, interact with peers, and have the opportunity to connect with faculty from your major, your area of interest and/or your minor. Once the schedule is finalized a link will be available on this page.
- The third piece involves programming and support for new students during the first few weeks of the semester. We know that you will have questions during your transition to college life. The Office of New Student Services is here to help you find answers.
We look forward to meeting you at orientation and at the many different events and activities sponsored by the New Student Services team!
The Office of New Student Services encourages students to design their first-year experience by using the many different opportunities on the campus to engage with peers, staff, and faculty.
The College’s Pre-Orientation Program offer students unique ways of getting connected to other students with similar interests as well as the faculty and professional staff who plan and facilitate these trips.
