SUNY Oneonta has been named by Money magazine as a “Best College for Your Money,” ranking No. 224 among colleges and universities across the nation. A total of 744 schools were including in the rankings list.
To be named a school that successfully combines quality and affordability, SUNY Oneonta was evaluated on 19,000 data points, including tuition and fees, family borrowing and early-career earnings.
To make the initial cut for Money’s list, colleges and universities need to have at least 500 students, have sufficient, reliable data to be analyzed; not be in financial distress; and have a graduation rate that was at or above the median for its institutional category, or have a high “value-added” graduation rate (score in the top 25% of graduation rates after accounting for the average test scores and percentage of low-income students among its enrollees).
Money sourced the U.S. Department of Education, Peterson’s, PayScale.com and MONEY/College Measures for its calculations.
In addition to its recognition by Money, SUNY Oneonta has been named among public colleges on Kiplinger's Personal Finance list of "Best College Values" (2019).
