Our annual Study Abroad Photo Contest results in remarkable photographs from our SUNY Oneonta students. Whether you travel abroad or dream of lands far away, we hope you enjoy the photos of our adventurous students. The Office of Global Education thanks all study abroad participants who allow us to live vicariously through them and inspire others to travel.

"SUNY Oneonta Pride"

A photo where some kind of SUNY Oneonta clothing or swag item (flag, banner, pendant) is highlighted in a photo featuring local culture or nature of a host country. You and/or your friends are encouraged to be included in the photo.

THE RULES AND REQUIREMENTS


  1. Each participant may submit up to 4 photos total (you may submit photos to any of the below categories):
    • Culture (photo featuring an aspect of culture in the host country - you and/or friends may be in the photo)
    • Nature (photo featuring the natural landscape in the host country - you and/or friends may be in the photo)
    • SUNY Oneonta Pride (photo of you abroad with SUNY Oneonta swag/t-shirt...etc.)
  2. Photos must be submitted by a SUNY Oneonta student (current or recently graduated) who studied abroad.
  3. Photos must have been taken during a direct study abroad, short-term, direct, exchange, or faculty-led program, in which the Oneonta student earned college credit.
  4. Photos must have been taken either BY the SUNY Oneonta student participant, or it must be a photo OF the student taken by a friend (no photos from professional photographers will be accepted!) Photos must be taken by the participant's camera.
  5. Photos must be of a high resolution and submitted in JPEG format only to the Office of Global Education at globaled@oneonta.edu.
  6. Photos cannot be altered in any way from their original format.
  7. Winners must pick up prizes in-person from the OGE Office in 128 Hunt Union.
  8. Participant MUST include their name, title, city, and country of each photo in the accompanying e-mail.
  9. By submitting the photo(s) the participant agrees to allow the OGE to utilize their photo(s) for OGE Study Abroad activities and marketing. Participant must sign the downloadable Image Release form and submit it to globaled@oneonta.edu with their photos to be eligible to compete.
  10. Photo(s) and image release are due by Friday, March 22 at 4:00 pm in order to be considered! Winners will be announced at the end of April.
