Why SUNY Oneonta?
SUNY Oneonta was cost-friendly and, when I saw the campus, I really liked it and felt like I could see myself there. I liked how all the academic buildings are in one straight line, that’s really helpful and not overwhelming.
Peer Mentor for international students, Geography club, Ski and Snowboard club, Japanese Society for All
Definitely my study abroad experiences. For the spring 2017 semester, I studied in Gold Coast, Australia, and that was an amazing, amazing experience. That following summer, I interned in Dublin, Ireland. Because I had all the study abroad experience, I got the Peer Mentor position on campus, and I really enjoy that because I love to meet new people and see different cultures.
What I’ll Remember in 20 Years
Definitely being able to study abroad. Oneonta didn’t have a program that went to Australia, but one of the biggest benefits of being in the SUNY system is that you can do any of the SUNY schools’ study abroad programs, no matter which one you go to. It gives you a lot more opportunities. I’ll also remember hiking and being outdoors with my friends. We do intramural softball and soccer together. And I enjoy participating in service events and activities like Into the Streets and Relay for Life.
Plans, Goals, Dreams
I’m applying to teach English in Japan when I graduate. My dream job would be to work for an international ski company, testing out different products and traveling and meeting new people.
