Why SUNY Oneonta?
I chose Oneonta because of the program that they had. When I was looking at other schools, they would usually focus on one specific area of art. I liked Oneonta’s curriculum because it’s not just one specific type of art, there’s also art history and other parts of art I never thought I’d ever explore, like artists’ books.

I’ve loved all the friends I’ve made. It’s a little bit different than making friends, say, in high school. Just discovering new people with the same interests as me has been absolutely wonderful. Studying abroad and being featured in school art shows has also been amazing.
Plans, Goals, Dreams
Something in graphic design or advertising. My dream job is to work for Playbill magazine designing the programs for Broadway shows.
About My Major
I like the broadness and the exploration, diving into things I wouldn’t normally be able to explore. The reason I paired art with communication is just so that I can sort of learn not just the ‘how’ but also the ‘why’ and how to express and communicate properly, not just with words but finding a way to create an image that says something a certain way.
Artists’ Books was cool. It’s taking what you like to work in and then making a book based on that. Taking a narrative and making art around it. That was a lot of fun. I also like my digital classes. I’m taking Typography right now – so it’s the art of letters and words and fonts. That one’s fun.
