Why SUNY Oneonta?
The fashion program! I was very drawn to the 3 and 1 with FIT. I visited the summer before senior year and just kind of knew that it was my place. And then I actually ended up taking myself off the FIT track because I found that Oneonta is more comfortable for me. I’ve developed a lot of relationships here with my professors, so I feel like in the long run that will benefit me more than going away.
Kappa Beta Gamma sorority, E-board for Student Fashion Society, Hippies for Hope
A lot of it is through my department and through the Student Fashion Society. I’ve designed for two student fashion shows and been a model in two. My first line was based off of Halsey’s album, “Badlands.” My second year, I had pieces that were made out of magazines and colored pencils! I also work in my department and get to have more of a one-on-one relationship with my professors, which has been helpful. Meeting new people has been a big thing for me. I’ve had a lot of good memories so far.
Plans, Goals, Dreams
My ultimate dream would be to own my own company and design for it.
Wearable Art. It was a lot of work, but it was very interesting to work with unconventional materials to make clothing. Dr. Chiweshe is a great woman.
