Why SUNY Oneonta?
I got a recruiting letter in the mail from my coach and then I looked at the campus, and one of my cousins went here, actually. I came on a visit, and I just really enjoyed what I saw.
Cross Country, Track and Field, Chemistry Club
I think just spending time with people – whether it’s working on homework in groups or making new friends from a new class – that I’ll just really never forget for the rest of my life. It’s crazy. I’ve met tons of people that way, and with each new class I’ll meet a different person. It’s a really good thing.
One thing I love about my major, and this is SUNY Oneonta in general, is that the classes are very small, so that one-on-one time with teachers is just great. I'm more personable, and all the universities I was looking at had these huge lecture classes. Here, I feel like they make more time for you.
What I’ll Remember in 20 Years
I guess just all the people I met here, having that consistent support system of my teammates and my friends from classes, that stuff you're not going to get anywhere else. I’ve become very close with my teammates, with all the miles run together. And the relationship with professors, also. I don't know if I'll ever have all that again.
Plans, Goals, Dreams
It’s bittersweet because I don’t want to leave, but I do want to move on in life. After graduation, I’m going to apply to PT school. My dream job would be to be a physical therapist. That would be great because I just love communicating people, interacting and helping them get back to health.
