Why SUNY Oneonta

I actually didn’t want to come to Oneonta at first. My sister went to school here and I had been so many times, I thought I wanted to see another college. But after I started discovering other colleges, I came back here because I liked it the best. I love the atmosphere, the size, and the small classes. And I like that it was far enough away from home. I think it’s beautiful here, so I’m glad I came back.

Best Experiences

I traveled to New Orleans for a geography course and had so much fun. It was such a learning experience, doing work that was really useful in the mud and muck. We planted all these trees and grasses and it made a difference.

I also studied abroad in Ireland, which was absolutely one of the coolest, best experiences I’ve ever had. I met lifetime friends and found out more about myself in those six months than I think I ever have.

Additionally, I completed an internship with a local organization called CADE that helps area farmers market their products and fend for themselves against big businesses. It’s really cool to be able to make a difference locally.

Plans, Goals, Dreams

I love both of my majors, so now it’s just a matter of seeing how I can combine them for a career. Next semester, I’m going to be doing an independent study and I’m hoping I can go to India for that. In my last year here, I just want to take in as much as I can and network as much as I can, while also enjoying myself.
