I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I knew I liked music. I started a band with friends in high school. I saw that SUNY Oneonta was the only state school that offered music industry, and after visiting and meeting some students who are in the field, I was intrigued and decided it was the place for me. It was also a great value – a great education for an affordable price. Besides majoring in music industry, I’m an audio arts production minor.
Music Industry Club, Songwriters Club, Audio Production & Engineering Club, WONY
My relationships with faculty have been nothing but positive. They’re very compassionate and nurturing. My high school had 4,000 kids, so I really like the fact that the college classes are smaller. The professors know you and want you to succeed.
I’ve also loved being involved with the Music Industry Club. I got to play a show and that was really fun.
Plans, goals, dreams
I want to take on leadership roles for the clubs I’m in, and I definitely want to be involved more with musical projects. I’d love to eventually start my own production company. I just want to dip my toes in whatever I can, to be an artist, producer and engineer. I want to be my own boss someday.
