Why SUNY Oneonta?
What really drew me to Oneonta was the mass communications department because there is just so much. When I visited and saw the TV studio in IRC and all the equipment, I was like, "‘We have lighting kits?!" And when I toured the Mass Comm department and saw the plethora of classes we can take, that’s when it hit me. Other schools only had, like, two media classes, but I wanted more. At Oneonta, I got into making videos and branched out into photography and then music. And Oneonta is the place for it. I’ve recorded two songs in Fine Arts. This is like a sanctuary for Mass Comm students--that’s why I love Oneonta.
Oneonta Film Club, Brothers for Empowerment, The Oval
There’s a lot, actually: performing during a Lambda Theta Alpha event; making films with the Oneonta Film Club, being able to play on a collegiate team – the Men’s Rugby Team - has been amazing. That was so much fun, the camaraderie.
What I’ll Remember in 20 Years
We like to go to Wilber Park. One day we were so bored, we had nothing to do and it was nice outside. There’s a pool there, and behind it there’s a creek. We just took a walk. It was fun because it took us like 45 minutes to get 100 feet because we were trying to step over and on rocks, and we fell a couple of times. There’s a park where I’m from in the city, but that’s not something I would have been able to do there.
Plans, Goals, Dreams
I’ve always said, "One day, I’m going to be famous." I would love to be a host on television. I want people to know who I am and where I came from.
