Common Application OR SUNY Application

Transfer applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. We will review fall and spring transfer applications until we have met our enrollment goal for the upcoming semester.

In addition to your SUNY Application or Common Application, the following materials are required:

  • Official college transcripts from all institutions attended. Official transcripts must arrive at the Office of Admission and Enrollment from the college in a sealed envelope or through a certified electronic process. Photocopies and faxes will not be accepted.
  • Official final high school transcript or GED/TASC Score Report
  • An Academic History Statement may be requested to explain what you have been doing since high school graduation. This statement allows you to identify any gaps or interruptions in your academic history. If this applies to you, the form will be accessible from your applicant status page.
  • Mid-term grades may be requested if you have earned less than 24 college credits, are academically borderline, or are in your first semester at a new institution. Mid-Term grades can be mailed, emailed, or faxed using the Mid-Term Grade Report Form. A mid-term grade report or web grades provided by your institution are also acceptable if actual letter grades are provided; we cannot accept P/F for Pass/Fail or S/U for Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory.

Important Application Note: Nearly all communications related to your application will sent via email, so please make sure that the email address provided on your application is correct. We suggest using your personal email as school email addresses are often blocked. You should also add admissions@oneonta.edu to your contacts to avoid important notifications being sent to spam folders. Acceptance letters will be mailed to the permanent address submitted on the application.

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is designed to provide access for students who demonstrate academic potential, talent and desire to earn a college degree. EOP assists students who are both academically and financially disadvantaged and provides additional services needed to ensure success. Transfer students interested in EOP at SUNY Oneonta must have been enrolled in an EOP/HEOP/SEEK/College Discovery program at their prior institution. If your previous college did not have EOP or a similar program, you may be considered for transfer eligibility and should notify the Office of Admission and Enrollment of your interest in EOP.

Academic eligibility: A cumulative GPA of a 2.3 at the most recent college attended with at least 24 semester hours of credit-bearing coursework is required for most majors. A final cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the most recent college attended is required for ALL Education majors.

Financial Eligibility: A Transfer Verification Form will be sent to your previous institution by the Office of Admission and Enrollment at SUNY Oneonta. This form must be completed by the appropriate office at your prior institution and sent back to the Office of Admission and Enrollment at SUNY Oneonta.
