Office of Academic Advisement Staff

The Academic Advisement Center at SUNY Oneonta is a resource that provides timely and accurate academic information and counsel for students, family members, faculty, and staff. The Center collaborates with faculty and staff to assist matriculated undergraduate students from the time of acceptance in creating, assessing, editing and implementing educational plans. We support and complement SUNY Oneonta’s mission and core values by striving to nurture the development of self-sufficient, responsible students who have a successful college experience that culminates in graduation. We are committed to providing quality service in an accessible, friendly, respectful, and competent manner.

I can't image life without: Music

My favorite quote is: "We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do." - Mother Teresa

A piece of advice for undergraduate students: Take your time to grow and learn. Be humble and open to new knowledge, experiences, and people. Don't sell yourself short by not striving for excellence. Work hard every day and let your light shine. And don't worry about being perfect. Simply being sincere and kind is enough.

I can't image life without: Family and my two dogs! My husband's name is Mike and he is a teacher at the local middle school. I have 2 kids, Natalia (now in college) and Caio (attending Oneonta High School. All of my extended family live in Brazil, but we are very close. I have two dogs, Bea (a rescued Lhasa Apso) and Chanel (a Bernedoodle).

The best part about working in Academic Advisement: So many things! I will start with the great team we have in our office and how we help and care for each other. I also find the work in Academic Advisement very rewarding because of the connections we make with the students, faculty, staff, and families. It feels great to be able to help students succeed.
