Educational Technology

SUNY Oneonta’s Educational Technology Specialist MS.Ed degree prepares students to become leaders in K-12 schools. Over the course of the program, you will gain a greater understanding of instructional design, hone your interpersonal and technology skills, and learn to create and manage highly engaging learning environments. For students holding an initial teaching certification, this degree leads to recommendation for an additional New York certification as an Educational Technology Specialist and satisfies the academic requirements for Professional Certification.

Literacy Education

SUNY Oneonta's Literacy Education MS.Ed. degree will prepare you for literacy and reading specialist positions and can be completed in one year, allowing you to enter the workforce quickly. The program ends with a practicum that incorporates research methods, literacy-based assessments and instructional techniques that current teachers will be able to apply right away in their own classrooms. Our program will lead to the All Grades certification. If you already have a master’s in education, you may be able to get certified in Literacy Education by taking only a few graduate courses.

Program Details

Each program has three start terms with rolling admissions, so you can apply any time and start whenever it’s convenient for you.  Classes are asynchronous, with no “live” meeting times, so you can access readings and assignments on your own schedule and work at your own pace. Our faculty provide individual attention and are accessible through virtual office hours.
