Why SUNY Oneonta?
I was a little bit intimidated by the college process and the transition from high school to college. I’m on full scholarship, so I decided to utilize that scholarship to the best of my ability. My high school counselor recommended Oneonta for me because it has the home-y feel. So that’s why I chose Oneonta. I felt like it had the most opportunities for me to excel professionally and socially.

Joining Xclusive, that was the first club I joined on campus as a freshman, and they made me feel welcome. It definitely helped me get more comfortable with the campus and meet people. Also my job at Hunt Union allows me to meet so many different people on a daily basis, and I’ve become familiar with all we have to offer on campus and the different organizations.
Plans, Goals, Dreams
I’m not sure yet. I’m in between marketing and advertising, public relations, video production and event planning possibly. I definitely have options to explore.
About My Major
I’m a very outgoing person. I changed my major from psychology last year because I felt like it didn’t suit me. I felt like I could truly be myself in Comm Studies. I feel like this major was made for me. I can be outgoing and be creative, and there are multiple jobs and careers that I can see myself doing long-term in this field. It fits being social because I’m a social butterfly.
Public Speaking. I love my professor, Stacy Branigan. She’s professional but motherly and makes it lively. She gives criticism back, but it’s always constructive so I don’t feel intimidated. It’s a great learning experience for me, and I’m seeing myself grow and progress over time.
