SUNY Oneonta’s Academic Publishing Microcredential provides insights about the world of academic publishing, focusing on peer-reviewed journals.
In addition to required coursework, students will participate in running an academic journal as a member of an editorial board for a minimum of one academic year.

- COMP 2000 Advanced Composition OR COMP 2039 Technical and Professional Writing
- SOC/ENSS/GEOG/HIST 2008 The SOAR Journal
- LING 3015 Introduction to Editing & Publishing.
Competencies
Upon completion of the program, you will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- editing;
- copyediting;
- document flow;
- executive leadership;
- communication and coordination; and
- project management.
You will receive both a notation on your transcript and a digital badge.
