The Entertainment and Sports industries are among the most important in New York State.

SUNY Oneonta’s Music Business Contracts and Copyright Program is a stackable credential designed to prepare students for employment opportunities throughout the state, and particularly in the metropolitan areas that are the centers of these industries.

Upon completion of the program, you will be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • ability to critically analyze, identify and evaluate proposals and draft deal memos for common industry agreements, including publishing/co-publishing, record company, management, touring/live performance;
  • ability to identify legal and ethical implications of business decisions and strategies; and
  • ability to understand current legal issues and emerging legal trends in sports management.

The courses contained in this microcredential are: MUSC 4588 Legal Issues of the Music Industry; LAW 2222 Legal Environment of Business; SPMT 4220 Legal Issues in Sport Management.

Upon completion, you will receive both a notation on your transcript and a digital badge.

This microcredential stacks to the SUNY Oneonta Music Industry BA program and SUNY Oneonta Sport Management BS program.
