Arabic & Islamic Studies Minor - AIS

This minor is only available to students who matriculated prior to Fall 2019.

The Arabic and Islamic studies minor (AIS) is an interdisciplinary minor which allow students to concentrate on the culture and history of Arabic and Islamic civilizations through coursework in the Arabic language, history and literatures of Arabs and Muslims, and Islam and its structuring of the social life in the Muslim world. Islam is the religion of twenty-two per cent of the world and approximately seven million US residents. Arabic is the first language of over three hundred million people and the liturgical language of nearly one fifth of the world. This minor will be an excellent choice for students who want to pursue a career in international studies, foreign languages, religious studies, and international business.
