Note: This application is separate from your application to gain credit for an internship. Funding up to $3,000 will be awarded.

Pre-approved funding is available so you can feel confident in applying for internships that have additional costs. For example, if you would like to apply to internships in a certain region that requires transportation costs, a pre-approval for train fare can alleviate limitations on your internship search.

Important: If you receive pre-approved funding, you must have an approved internship by the deadline listed in your award letter. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of awarded funding.

Funding can be applied for the following expenses:

Notes

Transportation

Transportation includes gas, train fare, bus fare, etc. For gas expenses, please include estimates based on distance traveled, your car's miles per gallon, and current gas prices per gallon. For example: "I will travel a total of 300 miles during my internship (10 miles each way--20 miles/trip-and I will visit my internship site 15 times. Clothing

Certain positions may have a dress code or required safety materials. Please include a specific estimate for clothing, based on an internet or brick-and-mortar quote. For example: "I need to wear a blazer and a white shirt while at my internship. Based on an internet search, blazers cost $34.99 at TJ Maxx. White button-down shirts cost $24.99. I would like to purchase three of each, bringing my clothing estimate total to $104.97 (blazers) and $74.97 (shirts), or $179.94."
