Student Mail and Package Services


Dragon Express has moved to the basement of Hunt College Union!

Dragon Express receives all USPS mail, UPS, Fed Ex and DHL for students. Students must present Student ID or Driver’s License to pick up their mail and package(s) at the counter. We now have parcel lockers so students can pick up their items whenever Hunt Union is open. You will receive a one time code and QR code in an email to access the parcel locker.

Other Dragon Express Services Include:

  • Mail and package shipping via UPS, Fed Ex or USPS
  • Packaging supplies
  • Copy and fax services
  • Postage stamps

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to utilize Dragon Express Services for both personal business and for their departments. Take advantage of the very low NYS contract UPS shipping rates!

Hours of Operation:

January 18 - 21 = 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
January 22, 23, 24 = 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Normal hours to start January 25th:
Monday through Friday = 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Parcel Lockers are available as long as Hunt Union is open.

Forwarding or Returning Packages:

Packages will be returned to sender if they are not picked up in 5 business days. To make other arrangements for your package if you can't pick it up within 5 business days, please contact us as soon as you receive the e-mail. We can forward packages that are shipped via USPS at no charge. You have to pay to forward a package that arrived via UPS, FedEx or DHL.

Incoming Student Mail:

All first-class mail can be picked up at Dragon Express. Students will receive an e-mail from Dragon Express when they have mail to be picked up. If students are no longer residing on campus, their mail will be forwarded to the permanent or local address on file.

Notification of Mail and Packages:

Students will receive an e-mail when they have mail or packages ready to be picked up. Please follow the instructions within the e-mail to receive your mail or package.

Addressing Mail and Packages for Students:

Students have been assigned a Dragon number as their new mailing address that they will have for their career at SUNY Oneonta. To find your unique Dragon number, check your student portal or the campus directory.

To ensure timely delivery of your mail, please use the following format:

General Format:
Student Name as registered (Middle Initial is helpful)

To ensure a timely delivery, please be sure print clearly and use your full preferred name and dragon number.

Outgoing Mail and Packages:

Outgoing mail and packages, including intracampus mail, can be dropped off to Dragon Express. FedEx is picked up Monday through Friday at 12 p.m. USPS and UPS pick up Monday through Friday at 2:45 p.m.

There is a blue dropbox near the bus stop on West Dormitory Road that Campus Mail Services picks up Monday through Friday at 1 p.m. Faculty, staff and students can use this for intracampus mail, stamped USPS mail, outgoing department mail, packages with prepaid labels for UPS, FedEx and USPS.

There is a UPS drop box outside the main entrance to Hunt Union. UPS picks up from this box Monday through Friday at 4:45 p.m.

Missing Package or Mail:

Gather as much information about the missing piece of mail or package (such as tracking number, how it was addressed, who it was from) and then contact Dragon Express to help locate your missing package.
