Dragon Guides

The Dragon Guides are a group of students who are specifically trained to help new students navigate their first semester. All new transfer students will hear from their Dragon Guide each week via email. The Dragon Guides are here to help you get acclimated to SUNY Oneonta through programs, social events, and meet ups in "The Lounge," a hang out spot specifically for new students in the Hunt Union.

Tau Sigma Honor Society

We're excited to welcome transfer students into this honor society who earn either a 3.5 GPA or earn a GPA within the top 20% of their incoming cohort their first semester. Some perks of being a member of Tau Sigma include access to faculty mentorship, opportunities to serve in a leadership role within the chapter, demonstrate their academic talents on a resume, and apply for a national scholarship. Transfer Club

The Transfer Student Club is a group of transfer students who host meetings and socials for other transfers to meet each other. Find their programs and events on Campus Connection, the CORQ app, or Instagram.

National Transfer Student Week

Every third week of October we celebrate National Transfer Student Week! Everyday features something different for transfers to connect with each other and SUNY Oneonta!

Wednesday, Oct. 22:

Transfer Tabling | 11 a.m.-1 p.m. | Fitzelle
A perfect opportunity for students to meet each other, meet the staff of The Center for Community College Partnerships, and complete a quick survey for a chance to win a $25 Starbucks gift card.

Grocery Bingo | 3 p.m.-5 p.m. | Ballroom, Hunt Union
Join us for Grocery Bingo, a fun and interactive event where students can play classic bingo for a chance to win essential grocery items and snacks! This event is a great way to connect with fellow students, especially our new and transfer Red Dragons, while stocking up on some campus-life necessities.

A fun and engaging Jeopardy style event in collaboration with the Making Cent$ team. Learn all things budgeting and feel free to bring your questions to our Making Cent$ advisors!

Pizzingo | 6:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. | Waterfront, Hunt Union
A fun and engaging bingo event with The Transfer Club featuring pizza, giving students a chance to relax and enjoy some food and games with friends.

Friday, Oct. 24:

Transfer Coffee Chat | 12 p.m. -1 p.m. | Hunt Union Living Room
Bring your lunch or Starbucks and come connect! Hang out with other transfer students, swap stories, and connect with the SUNY Oneonta transfer community!
