Group Visits

SUNY Oneonta values the opportunity for student groups to visit the campus. Visits are scheduled around a 65 minute long student-led walking tour of campus and are designed for high school juniors, high school seniors, and college transfers. An information session presented by a college professional can be scheduled in addition to the campus tour by request.

Group visit tours are offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3 pm with a 2 pm Information Session option or 11 am with either a 10 am or 12 pm Information Session option. Group visits are only scheduled when classes are in session and when they do not conflict with Admissions events. Group visits are scheduled on a first come, first served basis in most cases. We do not offer group visits during the month of August, weekends, or campus breaks. Summer group visits are possible, and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The group visit organizer should fill out the online request form at least three weeks prior to the desired date of the visit. SUNY Oneonta processes group visit requests as they come in. Once the request has been submitted, the group visit organizer should hear back from a SUNY Oneonta representative within two business days. Please keep in mind that our available dates may fill up quickly.

Group Visits dates are currently available Wednesdays and Thursdays during the Fall 2017 Semester. Additional dates are limited; please contact the Office of Admissions for more information. Please fill out the Group Visit Online Request Form to request a visit and our office will be in touch promptly. To find available dates, contact the Office of Admissions at 800-SUNY-123 or fill out the form below.

All visitors are expected to follow our Code of Conduct while visiting SUNY Oneonta. Please read the section below and share it with all members of your group prior to your visit.

Code of Conduct:
Groups are expected to be well-behaved and respect the campus property and the presenters and tour guides they will be working with. Visitors will be entering classroom buildings, residence halls and dining facilities where current students, faculty and staff will be carrying out their daily activities. It is important that visitors respect our campus since students consider the college an extension of their home. Failure to adhere to the regulations will result in your school not being allowed to visit the campus in the future. Please note that SUNY Oneonta staff reserve the right to end a group visit at any time if they feel visitors are breaching our Code of Conduct. Disrespect to any individual or the campus, or dangerous, aggressive or threatening behavior will not be tolerated. Chaperones are expected to be with their group and monitor their behavior at all times. Groups must have one chaperone for every ten students visiting the campus.

If you have any questions or would like to speak to a staff member about a group visit, contact our office at 800-SUNY-123 for assistance.
