Dr. Emily Riddle, Associate Professor in Human Ecology, was named one of 11 faculty fellows from across the SUNY System who will work to expand digital accessibility and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) practices across their campuses, which is crucial for student success.

Dr. Shawna Taylor Joins SUNY AI for the Public Good Fellows
Dr. Shawna Taylor, Assistant Professor of Elementary Education and Reading, has been selected for the inaugural group of SUNY AI for the Public Good Fellows. This is a new fellowship designed to help faculty, instructional designers, librarians, and others collaborate to design and refresh courses and learning activities to integrate the AI component of the Information Literacy core competency and help students develop essential skills for today’s digital world.
Dr. Sasha R. Ramlal
Dr. Sasha R. Ramlal Awarded the Learning and Leadership Grant from the NEA Foundation
Dr. Sasha R. Ramlal, Associate Professor in Elementary Education and Reading, was awarded the Learning and Leadership grant from the NEA Foundation. This grant is funding a teacher action research study in her undergraduate education courses during the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters. The research investigates how a gamified quest, designed using artificial intelligence (AI), influences preservice teachers’ motivation and learning outcomes. Preservice teachers will complete their coursework in the form of a gamified quest and engage in hands-on literacy activities.

Dr. Gina Solano Receives FACT2 Excellence in Instruction Award
FACT2 Awards are a SUNY honor designed to confer system-wide recognition for consistently superior professional achievement. Dr. Solano will be honored at the 2025 SUNY Conference on Instruction & Technology (CIT) in May. She has also been invited to present her accomplishments at a session during the conference.
