What is Bassett CARES?
The Bassett CARES Loan Repayment Program aims to provide graduates of SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick College opportunities to work in rural healthcare while receiving support for paying down student loans.
Eligibility Requirements
For every six-months worked in a full-time position (36+ hours weekly) at Bassett Medical Center or A.O. Fox Hospital, the student is eligible to receive a $5,000 loan repayment stipend, up to $25K. Stipends are taxed, as appropriate under IRS rules.
Benefits & Performance
Full-time employees, including selected graduates, are eligible for a sign-on bonus applicable to the position, and benefit package. If a participant in this program is involuntarily terminated during a six-month time block, they will not receive the stipend.
