  • EXSC 5710 - Leadership and Management Strategies of Athletic Administration (Graduate, 3 credits)
  • EXSC 5720 - Facility and Event Management Styles (Graduate, 3 credits)
  • EXSC 6730 - Analytics and Data-Driven Decision Making (Graduate, 3 credits)
  • EXSC 6740 - SportSales, Sponsorship and Revenue Development (Graduate, 3 credits)

Competencies

Upon completion of the program, students will demonstrate:

  • The ability to plan, organize and execute sport events (event management)
  • An understanding of facility operations, logistics, risk management, compliance, safety standards and customer service in sport venues (facility management)
  • Competence in financial planning, budgeting, economic decision-making, analyzing financial statements, assessing the financial health of sport organizations, and understanding revenue generation strategies (sport finance)
  • Proficiency in interpreting sport-related data to support strategic decisions, ability to use analytics tools for evaluation, knowledge of how data influences operational efficiency (data analytics in sport)
  • Application of leadership and management theory to problem solving, organizational behavior, and strategic planning (leadership and management strategies).

Non-degree student

To be eligible to take courses as a non-degree student, you must:

  • have graduated high school or passed the GED/TASC; or
  • have a cumulative average of a 2.0 from the last college attended.

If you have been dismissed from SUNY Oneonta, you are not eligible to take courses as a non-degree student.

Application Steps

To apply for this microcredential, please complete the online Microcredential Application and submit the following documentation, as decisions will not be made until all materials have been received:

  • official HSED or GED score report/completion certificate, or
  • official high school transcript including graduation date or showing award of diploma, or
  • official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.

Application Deadlines

  • fall term - second Wednesday of August
  • spring term - second Wednesday of December

Minimum GPA

You must maintain a 2.0 grade point average to be eligible to continue enrollment.
