Graduate and Teaching Assistantships

Graduate Assistantships and Graduate Teaching Assistantships are available exclusively to graduate students who have been formally accepted into a graduate degree program at SUNY Oneonta as full-time students (typically enrolled in at least 9 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters).

A graduate assistantship or graduate teaching assistantship requires a commitment to work an average of ten hours per week during the academic year. Students are compensated through a tuition waiver and stipend. Graduate assistantships and graduate teaching assistantships are not intended for students who are already working a full-time job given the time requirements for work and study.

Graduate assistants and graduate teaching assistants are represented by Graduate Student Employees Union.

SUNY Oneonta values a diverse university community. Please visit our website on Inclusivity. Moreover, the University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. Women, persons of color, persons with disabilities, and protected veterans are encouraged to apply. "At SUNY Oneonta, we believe that diversity is an asset and a source of strength that energizes our collective growth and innovation." - President Alberto Cardelle.
