Omicron Delta Epsilon Honorary Society in Economics

Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) is the International Honor Society for Economics and one of the world’s largest honor societies, with hundreds of chapters in many countries. ODE recognizes scholastic attainment and honors outstanding achievements in economics, establishes closer ties between faculty and students within universities, publishes The American Economist, and sponsors panels at professional conferences and an undergraduate research award competition.

Since 1975, SUNY Oneonta is the proud home of its ODE Alpha Lambda chapter and has initiated hundreds of graduates, each of whom enjoy lifetime membership. A student is eligible for initiation when they have declared an Economics major, completed at least 12 semester hours of Economics courses, and have earned a “B” or better grade point average both overall and in their Economics courses.

Membership offers our students who have declared an Economics major fellowship and leadership opportunities. Our chapter regularly meets with research presentations, faculty roundtables, and recognition at its annual initiation ceremony. For more information, please contact the advisor.
