Do you aspire to work in the healthcare industry? Do you want to gain relevant experience, live and take courses with students with similar interests?
The Pre-Health LLC provides declared pre-health professional students of all majors opportunities to learn about health care delivery in diverse communities (rural, urban, global) while gaining field experience and enhancing skills essential to providing effective healthcare.
You will participate in local field trips, attend presentations by healthcare professionals, and volunteer in the local community. Through these opportunities, you will be able to reflect on and gain insight into the traits necessary to succeed in healthcare professions—compassion, altruism and the ability to work well on teams. You will also have opportunities to interact with faculty outside the classroom, and to network with both alumni working in healthcare jobs and admissions officers at potential future professional school programs.
Pre-Health LLC students will be enrolled in College Life, a first-year seminar section developed for the Pre-Health LCC and taught by the pre-health advisor, as well as CHEM 111, an introductory chemistry course taken by all students in pre-health concentrations.
The LLC gave me a headstart for upcoming years and helped me learn what I’ll have to do in the following semesters.
