Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre, SUNY Oneonta’s Theatre program blends classroom and hands-on learning. Students gain core skills in theatre’s many elements, then specialize in acting, directing, design or stage management while creating productions modeled on professional practice.

Facilities
The Theatre Department, housed in the Fine Arts Building, includes theatres, studios, shops and more. Additional spaces for dance classes and large-attendance lecture are located across campus.
Student Opportunities
You’ll get hands-on experience in theatre outside of the classroom by acting or being part of the stage crew in campus performances through the Mask and Hammer Theatre club and by joining dance clubs.
Season Shows
The Theatre Department puts on shows each semester with help from the Mask and Hammer Theatre Club. Plays and musicals are performed in the Goodrich and Hamblin theatres on campus.
