Approximately 5 tons of gently used items donated by SUNY Oneonta students were saved from the waste stream and given new life this week, thanks to the annual Move-Out Donation and Reuse Collection program, a partnership with The Arc Otsego.

Thanks to several hands-on learning opportunities at SUNY Oneonta, Biochemistry major Marie Box is ready for a career in the field of food science.

After moving from Trinidad to America to attend college and swim competitively, Delroy Tyrrell was forced to change lanes when the school he was attending closed. Drawn to the welcoming campus, inspiring swim coach and unbeatable value, Delroy dove right in to a new chapter at Oneonta, forming new friendships, breaking athletic records and preparing for a career in Sport Management.

Growing up in a family that valued fitness and healthy living, Grace Pastino came to SUNY Oneonta with a clear goal: to become a Registered Dietitian.

I chose SUNY Oneonta because of the professors in the Women’s and Gender Studies (WGS) department, they are truly the kindest and most intelligent people I know.

I chose Oneonta because of its incredible education program and beautiful campus. So many people in my life had such great things to say about their time here, especially about how supportive and knowledgeable the staff was. When I toured here, I fell in love with the campus and overall vibe of Oneonta and knew I had to come here.

Some of my best experiences so far in my major include working with others, collaborating and growing with others, like during group projects and mock interviews. Mentoring and being a building manager is also special to me, helping me develop my character and assisting my growth as a person.

In researching schools overseas, Musiimenta was immediately intrigued by the extensive opportunities and cutting-edge facilities offered by the Theatre Department at SUNY Oneonta, where she is now pursuing her acting dreams as an international student.

Music producer and content creator Hunter Galvin, Class of 2021, earned his stripes as a budding beatmaker while majoring in Music Industry at SUNY Oneonta, composing catchy tracks in his residence hall room and during classes inside Fine Arts Studio A.

When Jadyn Hysack learned about SUNY Oneonta’s pre-chiropractic program, she knew she wanted to take a crack at it. Having earned a bachelor’s in biology after a busy four years packed with classes, clubs and an internship, she is now continuing her spinal health studies at Northeast College of Health Sciences in Seneca Falls.

During his sophomore year as an international student from Japan, Kento Igarashi transferred to SUNY Oneonta, discovered a passion for photography and landed a graphic design internship.

Grace Tran, a Media Studies major from Albany, NY, came to SUNY Oneonta undecided about her major and discovered Media Studies after joining the campus’s TV production club.

With a dual major in Communication Studies and Business Administration and a passion for the silver screen, Wilden Bruce is eager to pursue a career as a behind-the-scenes force in the movie industry, overseeing everything from securing funds to helping writers bring their vision to life.
