Accredited by the AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, SUNY Oneonta’s Business Department prepares students for successful careers through majors in Business Administration, Professional Accounting and Marketing. Of the approximately 16,000 business schools in the world, just 5 percent have achieved this designation, indicating a highly qualified faculty, excellent curriculum, and top outcomes for graduates.

Add a Concentration
Advance your knowledge of a functional field of business beyond the core curriculum in your major by choosing an optional concentration. Coursework in one concentration is completed in the junior and senior year, and after all prerequisite courses have been completed. Concentrations are elective, not a graduation requirement. Business Administration majors can choose one of the following concentrations:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Marketing
- Supply Chain Management
Professional Accounting majors are only eligible to take the Finance or Marketing concentrations.

Prepare not just for your first step into the world of work, but for long-term business careers and leadership roles, informed decision-making, creative problem-solving and sound ethical judgment. We offer numerous practical experiences and opportunities to participate in team projects, including a . student-managed investment portfolio and the Volunteer Income Tax Preparation program. The department holds membership in the SAP University Alliance, providing students with an opportunity to learn various business processes and their integration with SAP, a leading enterprise resource planning software. SUNY Oneonta is also a Bloomberg Experiential Learning Partner, and our students can achieve certification in Bloomberg Market Concepts.

Business Advisory Council
The Business Advisory Council provides strategic guidance and mission-focused insight for SUNY Oneonta’s Business programs. Members serve as advisors and ambassadors, representing diverse industries, regions and perspectives. Appointed by the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Council includes alumni, community and business leaders, emeriti faculty and regional partners committed to the college’s values.
