A year ago, Bainbridge, NY, native Bethany Shaw wasn’t particularly invested in the red-backed salamander, a small, hardy woodland creature whose scientific name is Plethodon cinereus. Today, she is the attentive caretaker of 120 of the tiny, reddish brown salamanders, and she even has a favorite.
Oneonta community members are invited to shop for gently-used items donated by SUNY Oneonta students beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, at the ReUse Center, located at 23 Duane St. in Oneonta. 
SUNY Oneonta showed its appreciation Monday, May 10, to all involved in organizing and operating the New York state-run COVID vaccination site on its campus. In recognition of the effort needed to sustain the site, Acting President Dennis Craig presented vaccination site workers with an oversized thank-you card at a gathering this morning on campus.
The roughly 1,300 members of SUNY Oneonta’s graduating class will be recognized during 2021 commencement exercises that include virtual and in-person components, including an opportunity to cross the stage and hear their name called.
To say that Ranieri was just another administrator or coach would be to say that the earth is round. Her 30 years of service in excellence will be one that leaves an indelible mark on the college and the impact she has had on the lives of thousands of student athletes is immeasurable. Her passion for student athletes is inspirational!
