The State University of New York Board of Trustees has increased SUNY Oneonta’s funding by 12.7 percent ($1.8 million) from 2024 as part of the FY 2025 Enacted New York State budget.

Seven SUNY Oneonta faculty and staff members are among a select group of State University of New York professionals being honored with the 2024 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence.

State, city and community leaders joined SUNY Oneonta President Alberto Cardelle on Monday, April 29, to officially open a new downtown Oneonta location designed to strengthen the region by offering training for pressing job vacancies within Otsego County.

Red may be SUNY Oneonta’s official color but, one week out of the year, students, faculty and staff “go green” to celebrate the Earth and showcase the campus’ commitment to sustainability during Green Dragon Week, organized by the Office of Sustainability.

An innovative new effort at SUNY Oneonta aims to prepare students for life outside the classroom and after college by focusing on professional and social maturity and growth.
