Why SUNY Oneonta?

I had some friends back in high school that had older siblings who went here, and they told me it was awesome. I came here and loved it. So I checked out some other schools, and they weren't anything like it was here. I like the atmosphere here and I like the layout of everything. There's nothing that's too excessively far away from anywhere I have to be. Everything I need is all kind of in one spot. I think the farthest I have to walk to get to somewhere I need to go is like six minutes, which is awesome.

Best Experiences

My Calc II class. The teacher is really cool, he's real personable so it's nice. He understands where you're coming from when you're speaking to him, like the struggles of school and stuff and how there's a lot of work. But he's also really good at teaching. He's going over some stuff we learned last year in Calc I, and some of that stuff I didn't fully understand that well. And this year, I understand it so much better. I really like his class and look forward to it every day I have it.

What I’ll Remember in 20 Years

The second day I was here I got put into a triple with a kid I went to high school with and another person. And the second day we were here, me and the kid we got put into a triple with went around our whole dorm building and met everybody. We've made friends with all of them at this point. So now we know everybody in our building. We had a kickball tournament, which was a lot of fun! And we go to all the events they have at Hunt Union. There's a couple of kids down the hall we've hung out with every day. There's some kids upstairs who have become some of my best friends already. So I think that after I graduate here and I think back, I'll think of the people I met here. I'm hoping I'm going to keep in touch with them.

Plans, Goals, Dreams

My dream job is to be a statistician for pro sports. I love math and I love sports, so if I could couple those two things into a job that I get to do for the rest of my life? I’d love nothing more – that would be incredible!
