More than five decades after establishing an international exchange program with Seinan Gakuin University in Fukuoka, Japan, SUNY Oneonta students and alumni continue to benefit from the longstanding partnership and time spent abroad.

SUNY Oneonta’s long-running educator preparation programs have had the distinction of being continuously accredited since 2000, and recently reached an important milestone, earning accreditation from a new accreditor, the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP).

A grant of nearly a quarter of a million dollars will let SUNY Oneonta Biology faculty and students conduct research on an invasive species that has become a widespread problem in the Lake Champlain Basin – Eurasian watermilfoil.

It may be summer break, but learning at SUNY Oneonta is certainly not on pause, with 40 students having recently returned from four different faculty-led programs abroad.

Several major construction projects at SUNY Oneonta will wrap up this summer before students return to campus for the fall 2023 semester.
