SUNY Oneonta has revised its institutional mission statement to guide development of a vision and strategic goals for the next several years. The new mission, which SUNY Oneonta President Barbara Jean Morris announced today in a campus-wide video, is:

“We nurture a community where students grow intellectually, thrive socially and live purposefully.”
SUNY Oneonta hosted representatives from the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University in Kiev, Ukraine, from April 22-27 to advance a proposed academic partnership between the two institutions.
Four SUNY Oneonta students are among 210 State University of New York students chosen to receive the 2019 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence. SUNY Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson presented the awards to the students during a reception in their honor today in Albany.
SUNY Oneonta has been recognized as a 2018 Tree Campus USA® by the Arbor Day Foundation for its commitment to effective urban forest management and for engaging staff and students in conservation goals.
SUNY Oneonta is one of the 10 best colleges in New York for landing a job after college, according to a new study published by Zippia, a career-planning, job-finding resource. The study looked at 128 public and nonprofit, four-year institutions in New York that offer at least a bachelor’s degree.
