Class of 1960 Scholarship and Barbara McKaig Urell '66 Memorial Scholarship

I am thankful every day for those who share my belief in the importance of education. I have been highly involved on campus, working as a Hunt Union Student Manager, a Dragon Guide, and an Admissions Assistant. I’ve attended classes that challenge my mind and had the opportunity to develop into the leader I am now during my time at SUNY Oneonta. I want to express my gratitude for all you have done to help me better my education.

Student Research Grant Recipient

Learning about how to conduct research has given me a great foundation to continue my academic career and continue being a part of future projects. This experience has also given me a leg up as most graduate school programs require some sort of research experience to be considered for admission. Thank you for this amazing opportunity! I've discovered a passion for research and through this, I can continue to pursue higher education and continue my work in the field of academic psychological research.

My internship helped me get a jumpstart on my career path and grow as an individual. I was able to meet many new people and make great connections for my future. At the end of the internship, I was offered a job as a Private Client Banker Associate that begins after graduation. I would like to thank the Ajello Fund for supporting me through my summer internship program. It had helped me out greatly and changed my life in a positive way.

Dr. Warren & Mrs. Rita Wellman Scholarship for Study Abroad

Studying abroad was an amazing experience for me academically. It was so enlightening to see and experience academics in a different country, and to see how a different university operated. Learning about Greek language and culture was an extremely enriching experience. It allowed me to connect and network with Greek students at the university who I am still in contact with! I hope that after graduation I can use these connections, especially since I want to pursue an international career. Since I committed to SUNY Oneonta in 2019, I knew I wanted to study abroad. It was a dream of mine since high school, and this scholarship made the dream become a reality.

My college experience so far has been amazing and has changed my life for the better. My academic and athletic careers at SUNY Oneonta have been a dream come true for myself, my family, friends, and the people in my community that look up to me. I will never forget the friendships and bonds I have made with the people that I've met during my time on campus. I'm grateful for the scholarships that I have received because they have allowed me to be on this journey and continue to grow and develop.

George and Frances Waddington Scholarship

Being a student at SUNY Oneonta has allowed me to participate in a Bachelor's-Master's program with Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. My time here was made possible because of the generous scholarship support I received. Political science is my passion, and I am grateful to be given the opportunity to study in such a unique and changing field.

My internship helped me prepare for my career after graduation in many ways, and reassured me that this is the field that I want to be in. It also made me realize how rewarding it is to make an impact on the lives of individuals and their families. I am very grateful for the support I have received for this internship. The support from a fellow Red Dragon donor made it possible for me to finish my degree by gaining experience in something that I want to do for the rest of my life.

This project gave me an incredible leadership opportunity and insight into how the fashion industry works. This project also puts me ahead because I worked with a real brand to create a promotional event. It was an incredible experiential learning opportunity, and I could never thank you enough for the opportunities I have gotten here at SUNY Oneonta. The support I have gotten from donors, faculty, and alumni has been incredible. I hope one day I can help students here again like I have been helped.
