Fashion Abroad

Studied abroad in Florence, Italy

How studying abroad shaped my college experience
"By networking with students, professors and professionals from around the world, my time in Milan solidified my interest in the fashion and design industry. Moving out of my comfort zone and spending a semester abroad helped me gain a greater appreciation for different people and cultures."

Broaden your understanding of fashion - and your cultural experience - with a semester or summer abroad.  Each semester, several students study fashion in England, France and Italy. Internships are available in some countries in conjunction with coursework.

Our program at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Italy is particularly popular. During the Made in Italy introductory course, you’ll get a whirlwind tour of the Italian fashion industry, with field trips to sites such as the Gucci Museum, Costume Gallery of Palazzo Pitti and the Prato textile museum. Other courses combine lectures, discussions, visits to textile production facilities and designer studios, and workshops on clothing, shoes and accessories to provide a deep understanding of the history of Italian fashion and the role of design in fashion manufacturing. Full-year, semester and four-week summer programs are available.
