Dr. Temple Grandin, a leading advocate for the autistic community, will share her thoughts and experiences in the presentation “Connecting Animal Science and Autism” on Wednesday, November 20, at 6:30 p.m. in SUNY Oneonta’s Alumni Field House. Grandin will share her perspective on why all kinds of minds are needed to help solve the world’s problems.
SUNY Oneonta’s Theatre Department, along with the Mask and Hammer student theatre club, will present “Disgraced” at Goodrich Theater in the college’s Fine Arts Center on November 6, 7, 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. and November 10 at 2 p.m.
The show is particularly exciting because many of the students involved in the production of the play had the opportunity to meet its author, Ayad Akhtar, when he came to campus in September to deliver the Mills Distinguished Lecture.

One of SUNY Oneonta’s CAMP/EOP students, Catherin Flores Granados, had the experience of a lifetime this summer interning with the Office of State and Grantee Relations in Washington, D.C.
Catherin, a sophomore from Mountain Dale, NY, was one of six College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) students across the country selected to participate in the National HEP/CAMP Association Internship Program. During the eight-week paid internship, she worked with the director of the Office of Migrant Education and many other offices nearby in the Department of Education.

SUNY Oneonta will host a group exhibition featuring New York state indigenous peoples’ art in celebration of the inauguration of college President Barbara Jean Morris. “The Land on Which We Gather” is an exhibition of more than 40 works of art by eight different artists, featuring oil, acrylic, watercolor and gouache paintings; stone sculpture; photography; mixed-media sculpture; beadwork; and video. The exhibition will run from Sept. 3 to Oct. 18 in the college’s Martin-Mullen Art Gallery, located inside the Fine Arts Center.
